PRESENTED BY BERNHARD GEISLER

He is at home in the Folk, Britpop and generally in the 60s, sometimes as sad as Elliott Smith, as cool as Liam Gallagher and as beautiful as John Lennon. Michi Rieder lends himself as an artist the name of his great-grandfathers: NIKOLAUS WOLF sounds exciting, individual and a bit strange. The musician from Bavaria creates urban sounds in the country and has also composed for the film. About the recordings to his debut EP Roekki Zimt Nikolaus Wolf says: "We have tried a lot and tried to create an authentic, independent and rather cineastic sound. Without falling into bombast and kitsch. "The compositions with guitar and voice were expanded with great sensitivity, also violins, xylophone, piano, old vintage synths and again and again a Mellotron are to be discovered. The analogue Sixties have melancholy and warmth to greet and meet neo-folk with lo-fi charm. Subtly, the sound collages and great moments blend perfectly into the singer-songwriter style, and Nikolaus Wolf's striking voice hovers over everything fresh and sincere. This creates a great emotional head cinema in a small space. With rumbleing beats, catchy piano melodies and surprising twists, Nikolaus Wolf presents four folk songs that fit seamlessly into the tradition of British and American sounds from the 1960s, yet still correspond to the contemporary zeitgeist. The individual world of Roekki Zimt is always developing from the puristic Folksong to the pulsating, psychedelisch sound wall, in which there are consistently new spheres to be discovered. It is the love for the little details that make the whole thing something special and endow with lots of charm and personality.
