After winning this year’s Glastonbury Emerging Talent competition, Josh Barry put himself on a global map. Playing seven shows including opening the John Peel stage on Saturday morning, BBC Introducing & a live session on BBC 2, his soulful voice and captivating charisma made his name known across Worthy Farm.
Currently unsigned and walking an independent path, his debut single ‘When I’m Grown’ catapulted in to the top 200 and gathered a loyal following online.
Rising up through the UK’s underground dance scene, Josh’s has worked with some of dance music’s global stars, collaborating with SG Lewis, Butler & Bontan and Friction; his vocals are versatile and affirming. Writing uplifting top lines and poetically honest lyrics, his ability in the studio is highlighted in the songs he features on.
On the road with Gorgon City he has fronted shows at some of the worlds most prestigious festivals. Taking to the stage at Coachella, SXSW, Glastonbury, Ultra, Reading & Leeds, Wireless, Hard Summer, Pukklepop, EDC and Future Festival in Australia.
His talent comes alive on stage, bringing back soul and funk influences from music industry icons. From Bob Marley, Jimi Hendrix, and James Brown, right through to Michael Jackson and Bob Dylan, he emanates what being successful in today's music industry is all about. Bringing forward real and honest talent that speaks to the audiences he wins over whilst imprinting his name on the legacy he leaves behind.
