James Cameron Says Jack "Had To Die" In 'Titanic'

Twenty years later, director James Cameron is still defending the end of "Titanic." In a recent interview with Vanity Fair to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the classic film, Cameron was asked why Jack, played by Leonardo DiCaprio, had to die. He responded, "The answer is very simple. Because it says on page 147 [of the script] that Jack dies. Very simple." He explained, "I think it’s all kind of silly, really, that we’re having this discussion 20 years later.
