Australia expands assistance to Philippines to combat IS-backed rebels

Australia will expand its security assistance to the Philippines to help it combat terrorism, defense ministers of both countries agreed Tuesday, a day after the Philippine army had managed to free the city of Marawi of Islamic State-backed rebels.
