Here is a glimpse of the footage my flat mates and I captured for the Life in a Day film project. Its not a fantastic video, but I wanted to share this moment with you. Having toyed with the idea of shaving my head for years, I decided this would be as good an opportunity as any to shed that touch of vanity Id clung to growing up. Though not explicitly expressed in the video, I wanted to shave my head to 1) free myself from my hair, the safety net I so often hid behind 2) let others see me raw, for who I really am 3) plunge into the unknown and discover myself in the process 4) challenge preconceived notions of beauty 5) work a crew cut whilst saving heaps on shampoo and 6) find out how lumpy my head is underneath it all. At the end of the day, I have no regrets whatsoever. It has been an unbelievably cathartic experience buzzing my hair. You should all try it.\r
