Chip and Joanna Gaines Cried Bittersweet Tears Deciding to End 'Fixer Upper'
Chip and Joanna Gaines won over hearts and homes with their hit HGTV show, Fixer Upper, but now that it’ll end after its fifth season, the couple has mixed feelings about leaving the small screen.
Chip tells People magazine, “It’s a bittersweet feeling… We’ve shed tears - and I mean ugly tears – and then we’ve laughed. All of a sudden the tears dry up and we get a little giddy.”
The couple released the statement on their blog announcing that season five will be their last, but they say, “While we are confident that this is the right choice for us, it has for sure not been an easy one to come to terms with… How bittersweet to say goodbye to the very thing that introduced us all in the first place.”
Thanks to the show, Chip and Jo have a very successful Magnolia real estate and restoration company, which we’re sure won’t be seeing a “demo-day” anytime soon.
