The Queen's estate at Sandringham raises fears of illness that can kill dogs
THE QUEEN’S estate at Sandringham has raised fresh fears over a mystery illness that can kill dogs. A further 51 cases, including two deaths, were linked to the estate the following year.The cause has not been pinpointed but it is believed bacteria, blue-green algae or fungal spores are responsible.The estate’s website warns: “We are approaching the time of year when cases of seasonal canine illness appear in some dogs walked in the country park. “Dog owners should keep their dogs on leads and may wish to consider topical spray treatments for mites. In recent years, during autumn, several dogs walked in woodlands suddenly became ill.“In some cases, dogs did not recover.”A Sandringham spokesman said: “The estate makes every effort to spread awareness of seasonal canine illness and to guide dog owners to keep their dogs on leads when walking on the estate.”. 00FastNews.
