Melania Trump's office is firing back at the social media snickering that broke out Tuesday over the first lady's choice of footwear for her visit to Texas, calling the attention to her outfit "sad."
While residents in Houston and beyond are grappling with catastrophic flooding from Hurricane Harvey, media outlets and celebrity comedians spent Tuesday morning mocking the first lady over the high heels she was seen wearing while leaving Washington with President Trump.

Thomas Donohue, president and CEO of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, told business delegates in Ottawa, without criticizing Trump, that significant changes to NAFTA will affect the connected economies of the United States, Canada and Mexico.
The head of an influential business group in the United States has made it lucidly clear that any move by Donald Trump’s administration to significantly tinker with the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) will have a detrimental effect on the economies of Canada, Mexico and the United States.
Trump has earlier stated that NAFTA has been a disaster for American workers and has pledged to renegotiate the deal stating that he is prepared to walk away from it if the changes made do not meet his expectations.

Federal advertising 'blacklist' of websites includes far-right outlets
CBC News has obtained official list of more than 3,000 sites barred from receiving government ads
Right-wing outlets The Rebel and Breitbart, as well as the extreme-right website Daily Stormer are among more than 3,000 websites on an internal "blacklist" to ensure the federal government's digital advertisements do not appear on sites promoting hate, porn, gambling and other subjects deemed unacceptable.
The expansive list also includes conservative news sites like the Drudge Report, the Washington Times, Gateway Pundit and the National Review, as well as many non-political websites, such as TMZ, Esquire and Cosmopolitan.
CBC News obtained a copy of a recent version of the list, dating from June, via an Access to Information request.
