A small group united by deep feelings
So much suffering, little money, so much music
The Italian region
A great challenge

The association Rototom was born in 1991 from the meeting of four people. From then until now the company has managed two discos, organized hundreds of concerts, occupied an abandoned factory to create a cultural centre, organized peace rallies and created the world's largest reggae festival , the Rototom Sunsplash, which in
2013 held its twentieth edition .

Rototom was born from a challenge: to combine friendship and work, ethics and projection.

From the beginning there were many difficulties and struggles that were faced to get the project going. Including when we had to leave Italy to emigrate to Spain.

Today, after 20 years, Rototom explains how it was born, the decisions, paths, difficulties and successes, because the future is yet to be built.

To the memories of the organizers of the festival, who met in Italy, and those of so many musicians, are added the reflections of some of the major organizers of great Italian musical events.

A story is thus constructed about what influenced individual and collective decisions as well as, predominantly, the Italian cultural and political landscape.

The first club in Gaio di Spilimbergo, the disco in Zoppola, Sunsplash in Latisana, the demonstration against the war in Aviano, Ex Cerit squating, the festival in Brazil, ten years in Osoppo, the new life in Benicàssim, the Contest in Latin America, the future ...
