Brillante Mendoza: A filmmaker's art is reflection of his society

Internationally acclaimed filmmaker Brillante Mendoza said being an artist or a filmmaker is being an instrument to create art based on his environment and experiences. "You are a reflection of your society," he told Agence France-Presse. He added showing his latest opus, "Ma' Rosa" in Cannes Film Festival served as an eye-opener for Europeans about the Philippine society.
