n two recent interviews – now available in back-to-back streaming video – World Energy Television CEO Richard Loomis discussed energy strategy in the United Kingdom with the UK Minister of State for Energy, Malcolm Wicks; and the Chairman for Renewable Energy, Prof. Ian Bryden.

In his interview, Minister Wicks fields questions concerning supply, the North Sea and the role of renewables. Further conversation includes UK plans for the oil majors and incentives for technology advanced companies to invest in renewables. The Minister also discusses renewable obligations, the advantages of high cost of oil and the UK’s efforts toward energy efficiency.

Focusing on renewables, Prof. Ian Bryden of the University of Edinburgh explains renewable targets for the UK as well as the renewable resources currently in use and being developed, including wave and tidal.
