After a delay of one year, the Union Cabinet finally cleared the 7th Pay Commission allowances and recommendations. This was something that 50 lakh government employees were waiting for. The government called it a modest increase of Rs 1448.23 crore per annum over the projections made by the pay panel. The additional financial burden is estimated at Rs 30748.23 crore per annum.
