Cars 3 Lightning McQueen Cause of Crash Discovered when Lightning McQueen pulled into the pits for new tires in the California 500, we noticed that Guido did not have a chance to install all 4 new tires on McQueen. When he sped away in a futile attempt to catch Jackson Storm, he lost control on his old tire and crashed.
