Kalaburagi: Mallamma Madhu Bande (38), wife of police sub-inspector Mallikarjun Bande who died in a shootout with supari killer Munna Darbadar in January 2014, died in Kalaburagi city on Saturday after a brief battle with cancer.
Ms. Bande, mother of two children, who was diagnosed with malignancy in the brain, underwent surgery to remove the tumour at NIMHANS in Bengaluru and later was admitted for treatment at a private hospital in Bengaluru before being shifted to Kalaburagi city 45 days ago.
