Minister of Sports, Vijay Goel, has played down the possibility of a potential India-Pakistan bilateral cricket series in near future, as long as terrorism prevails on the other side of the border.,Over the last couple of years, there have been multiple efforts from cricket boards of both countries to organise a cricket series between between India and Pakistan, but political tensions have not allowed it to materealize. And now that top officials from the BCCI and PCB are scheduled to meet in Dubai in order to discuss the MoU signed between the two countries in 2014, Goel's statement adds to it a further layer of uncertainty.
खेल मंत्री विजय गोयल ने साफ कर दिया है कि भारत को अभी पाकिस्तान के साथ द्विपक्षीय सीरीज नहीं खेलनी चाहिए. आज तक से बात करते हुए गोयल ने कहा कि जिस ढंग से दोनों देशों के बीच मौजूदा हालात हैं, इसलिये क्रिकेट नहीं होना चाहिए. आपको बता दें कि सोमवार को ही दुबई में बीसीसीआई और पीसीबी के बीच बैठक है. विजय गोयल ने कहा कि हम लोग इस पर हम लोग कुछ नहीं कर सकते हैं, पर मैंने बीसीसीआई से कहा है कि हमें द्विपक्षीय सीरीज नहीं खेलनी चाहिए, चैंपियंस ट्रॉफी का मामला अलग है.
