Bert Hickman can capture lightning.The engineer shows us how to create this incredible lightning sculpture or Lichtenberg figure. The piece is made with clear acrylic and a five million volt particle accelerator. Bert taps the accelerator into the acrylic creating branch-like fractures in the plastic and trapping the electric charge. The result is a lightning-like effect in the sheet.
