Mexico, Police Chief Slam Texas' 'Sanctuary City' Ban

last year2 views

The Mexican government, San Antonio's police chief and others have slammed Texas' new "sanctuary cities" law on Monday. They all say requiring local law enforcement to help enforce U.S. immigration law could lead to racial profiling and will increase distrust of the police by the state's many Hispanics. The law takes effect in September. Critics say it is the most anti-immigrant law since a 2010 Arizona one.
