Emilio Pericoli [born 1928] who was active in the late 50s and early 60s and mostly known for his song [Al di la] ,is here singing a very rare version of the song [Timida serenata] with the Italian singer Fernanda Furlani. The song music and lyrics were put by [Redi-Nisa]. P.G. Redi,[1908-1962] was a famous Italian composer, known for composing the music of many famous songs as [non dimenticar -T'ho voluto Bene] of the film [Anna] of 1951. Nisa ( Nicola Salerno ,1910 - 1969 ) was a famous Italian lyricist at his time. The song was performed for the first time in the 1958 music festival of San Remo [Sanremo] by the Late Aurelio Fierro &Gloria Christian, another version was also sung in Sanremo 1958 by Gino Latilla & Carla Boni.. Many singers performed this song in the late 50s,among them were,Nilla Pizzi, Claudio Villa [in Italian ,]Dalida,Dario Moreno [in french],Margot Eskens & Silvio Francesco,Christa Williams &Jo Roland [in German],Sergio Fiallo [from Cuba],etc. This rare version of [Timida serenata] by Emilio Pericoli was released as a shellac 78rpm record by [Parlophone] in 1958. The presented words that were on this Parlophone 78rpm record read [Timida Serenata Redi-Nisa-canzone-calypso(San Remo 1958) Emilio Pericoli& Fernanda Furlani -con complesso "Festival"].Unfortunately,Emilio Pericoli version of this song did not become popular [although a masterpeice of art in my opinion].No recent releases of it on either tape or CD were ever made, even the PARLOPHONE 78rpm record is not available nowadays in stores
