Modi to skip Punjab trip, SAD-BJP alliance on shaky grounds?

In an apparent snub to Punjab CM Parkash Singh Badal, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has cancelled his promised visit to Sri Anandpur Sahib, scheduled for June 19. The PM would be hosting the President of United Republic of Tanzania the same day, the state government has been conveyed. The cancellation is being seen as the last straw that broke the camel’s back as far as the SAD-BJP alliance is concerned. BJP leaders said they had sent a survey report to the PM stating it was not safe for him to visit Punjab.
