Russian armored vehicles are some of the best in the world, and they just keep getting better. This is the updated model of a special armoured vehicle in service in the Russian Armed Forced called the 'Medved', or 'Bear', and Ruptly got a chance to see it taken for a test drive in the Nizhny Novgorod Region on Wednesday. The upgraded Bear can take hits from explosive rounds, mines, and even chemical weapons attacks.

Designed by special request from Russia's Interior Ministry, the 12-tonne vehicle transports troops and weaponry both in urban and off-road conditions during counter-terrorism operations, riot control or territory defense missions.

The VPK-3924 'Medved' is a Russian-made Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicle, meaning it can provide protection against chemical and special agents, as well as guaranteeing anti-ballistic protection for the crew when the vehicle is attacked by fire from a distance exceeding 16 feet or when a non-shatterable explosive device packed with 15 pounds or less of TNT is blown up beneath a wheel.
