PM Modi breaks silence on Dalit Scholar suicide,protest during speech

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday finally broke his silence on the issue suicide of Dalit research scholar Rohit Vemula in Hyderabad and said, "politics aside, a mother has lost a son." Addressing a convocation programme at Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University in Lucknow, Modi said, "Politics and reason can be on one side, but a mother has lost his son and I feel the family’s pain."
