In the T35-38 women's 4x100m, for cerebal palsy athletes, Great Britain held the lead at the final changeover but a terrible exchange between the incoming Katrina HART (GBR) and anchor Jenny McLOUGHLIN (GBR) opened the door for the Russians who won in 54.86. Even with a perfect change Great Britain would have been hard-pressed to stay ahead of the flying 100m and long jump winner Maragarita GONCHAROVA (RUS), who ran a superb final leg for the winners. China, recovering from a bad second exchange of their own, had CHEN Junhei (CHN) overhaul the luckless McLOUGHLIN 30m from the line to take the silver medals in 55.65 while Britain had to be content with the bronze medals in 56.08.
