The British metropolitan police say they are investigating allegations of Saudi Arabia’s war crimes in Yemen.Scotland Yard said it had launched a scoping exercise into Saudi Arabia’s potential crimes against Yemenis over the past two years. The counter-terrorism unit also said that it was assessing whether criminal prosecutions could be brought over Saudi Arabia’s aerial campaign in Yemen. The move might blur diplomatic relations between Riyadh and London as Prime Minister Theresa May is set to visit the kingdom later this week. The United Kingdom, a close ally of Saudi Arabia, has been supporting the war on Yemen by sending arms to the Persian Gulf country to continue its aggression against its southern neighbor. Over 1200 Yemeni people have lost their lives since the war started in March 2015.
