Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar met Speaker of the US House of Representatives Paul Ryan and discussed safety of Indians, terrorism and how to take Indo-US ties forward. Giving details, Associate Fellow, Wadhwani Chair in US-India Policy Studies at CSIS Sarah Watson said that defence cooperation has been a major area of success between US and India, and Jaishankar should emphasise that during his meeting with his counterparts. Watson said that Jaishankar’s meeting with US is during period of transition between India and US relations.
