The trumpets and the flags announce the beginning.

A long march follows behind the group of people paving the road.

Finally, the King himself is revealed.

The King, along with his mother, visits his father’s grave on the outskirts to pay respect.

This is a reproduced moment of the Eight Day March that mobilized thousands of people 200 years ago.

My name is Nichola and I am an artist from Seoul.

I visit Changdeokgung once a year to witness such historic events.

There are five palaces in Seoul.

Out of those, Changdeokgung is the best preserved palace.

Changdeokgung boasts around 600 years of history.

Donhwamun, the main gate of Changdeokgung, has been directly witnessing that history.

Changdeokgung was built on a side of mountain rather than flat ground.

The royal palaces are freely arranged following the nature’s topography.

Many Kings loved the natural beauty of Changdeokgung.

The center of Changdeokgung tour is the ‘Secret Garden’, the Royal Garden.

With its blue skies and peaceful pavilions, it is considered one of Asia’s top three gardens.

In 1997, it was selected as the World Cultural Heritage site.

On this very pond where Kings would long ago boat and play around,

the traditional Asian concepts of universe are expressed on it.

When the night falls, the gentle lights paint Changdeokgung.

You can’t help but to walk wherever your feet may lead you.

After a long trail of history, you return back to reality.

Changdeokgung Palace Tour, driven by the term ‘old palace’.

And there, its hundreds of years of history and culture still remain and continue to flow.
