Anushka Sharma Initially Thought 'Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola' Was A Serious Film

Actress Anushka Sharma, who will be next seen playing a bubbly character named Bijlee in Vishal Bhardwaj's rustic rom-com 'Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola', reportedly though that the film was a serious fare before the narration took place. The reason behind this was that Bhardwaj is mostly known for making dark and intense films and so, when she was approached for the film, Sharma was under the impression that 'Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola' would be something like his other films. However, it was only when Vishal narrated the story and she burst out laughing at the humorous plot that she discovered that the movie was actually a funny one. Needless to say, Anushka agreed to the project quite immediately.
'Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola' also stars Imran Khan and Pankaj Kapur.
