Thousands attend Mexican girl's party after viral invitation

Thousands of people have attended a girl's birthday party in Mexico, after her parent's video invitation to "everyone" went viral on social media. Ruby Garcia’s coming-of-age party — known as a “quinceañera” in Latin culture attracted over 1.2 million RSVPs and 978,000 shares, in addition to establishing its own “XV Ruby Fest” geotag on Google Maps. Garcia and her parents welcomed the throngs of partygoers with tents and tables filled with food. People traveled to the tiny town from across the country for the larger-than-life event, with Mexican airline Interjet even offering 30% discounts on flights to the area.
