Priyanka Chopra is making all the right noises with her debut item song 'Babli Badmaash' for 'Shootout At Wadala' however, before signing the song the actress made it clear to the filmmakers, that her item number has to be very clean.
At the launch of the song when PeeCee was asked about this condition of hers, she said, "As a team we were very aware of it because of the recent controversies that has happened but as a team, we thought about the fact that it has to be a fun song cause that's what special appearance songs are all about but it shouldn't be demeaning."
"We have tried to do 80's kind of cabaret style dancing that they used to have at that time, we have touched upon that but we have not really done that. We have tried to keep it sexy, interesting, fun but not demeaning... That was something as a team we were very conscious of," she further added.
This decision of the SAW makers and Priyanka, comes in the wake of Censor Board's new regulation of scanning all item songs individually, as a select sect of the society feels that item songs commodify women and hence, are responsible for increasing the rate of crime against women in India.
