Karan Johar, who has done several films with Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, claims that SRK is a part of his system. KJo is looking forward to the release of his upcoming film 'Bombay Talkies', which celebrates 100 years of Indian Cinema. However, King Khan is not a part of the movie. At the trailer launch of the movie when Johar was asked why he didn't cast Khan in the film, he said, "I did this film to make a difference and to feel different and hoping to come to a press conference where I wouldn't be asked that question but unfortunately wherever I go, I'm asked this question why not this and why not that. Shah Rukh Khan is a part of my system, he is a part of my filmmaking, he will always be. When you see the film you'll see that it's very true to its characters and it's very true to its world. Unfortunately, I couldn't cast him. I love Shah Rukh Khan and working with him is a pleasure and honour always but there has to be a place, space, time and story for every actor to work in."

Karan made his directorial debut with Shah Rukh starrer 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' and since then, the duo have given many hit films like 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham', 'My Name Is Khan' and 'Kal Ho Na Ho' to name a few.
