The Closest Finish Ever?

An action packed Derek Bell Cup provided easily the closest finish we’ve seen at the 73rd Members’ meeting, as a thrilling race was won by just 0.018-seconds. The F3 ‘screamers’ sounded beautiful and, with some close action on track throughout, added visual excitement to the mix. After 14 laps of tight racing the leading pair crossed the line in what to the naked eye looked a dead heat. James King had kept the March-Ford 703 in check all race and picked his moment to launch an attack as the pair entered the start-finish straight for the final time. King pulled his Chevron-Ford B17 out of the slipstream at just the right moment to pip Armer to the chequered flag
