Oscar Winner Can Keep Bowe Bergdahl Interviews The Army Sought

The U.S. Army has stopped trying to seize hours of unaired interviews an Oscar-winning screenwriter recorded with Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl. Writer Mark Boal sued the government to block a military prosecutor who wanted to subpoena 25 hours of interviews. The prosecutor wanted the recordings for possible use at Bergdahl's court-martial for abandoning his post in Afghanistan in 2009. Boal won two Academy Awards as producer and screenwriter for the "The Hurt Locker.
