Sources report nearly 50 people had been killed in artillery bombardment of rebel-held eastern Aleppo on Wednesday. Additionally, more than 50,000 people have been displaced by the fighting, according to The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. Most of the dead have been reported as women and children. The Observatory's toll of 50,000 displaced was more than twice the figure of 20,000 given by the International Committee of the Red Cross on Tuesday.
