As a member of the European Tech Alliance (EUTA), Avast’s roots go back to 1988, when Czech researchers Eduard Kučera and Pavel Baudiš encountered the Vienna Virus and began their quest to save the world’s computers from it and others like it.
Today, Avast has over 500 professionals headquartered in Prague, Czech Republic, with additional offices in Germany, the USA, and China, distribution partners in all markets, and a global community of Avast enthusiasts. Our hope is that the European Tech Alliance will provide a forum through which we can together assist European regulators to reach sensible and informed decisions about the digital economy.
