Free running 2 - Game Walkthrough

Free Running 2 is, as can be expected from the name, a game abut free running, or more commonly known as parkour. For those who dont know what free running is, in a nutshell its running across a city without going around things or letting anything stop you. You jump over obstacles, climb over walls, jump over ledges, and pretty much just keep running just to run. Granted, no game can really capture the adrenaline and the rush of actually running through the urban jungle while leaping over obstacles, vaulting from building to building, and possibly plummeting to your death (well, perhaps not that last one) but this game comes pretty close.\r

As a Unity 3D game, Free Running 2 provides great visuals that really bring you to the cityscape that youre running through. The cityscape is well decorated, complete with pigeons that flutter away as you run past. Granted, the levels can be visually repetitive if you play for too long, but theyre still fairly well done enough to provide great aesthetics for the game. The character modelling and animation is certainly top notch, with the running, jumping, wall-climbing, and again, plummeting, all easily being of professional quality.\r
\r
The main goal of the game is to run from point A to point B. Now, its certainly a simple matter to do such, and its no real challenge to manage it even under the time limit. The key however, is to doing it with style. Any bloke off the streets can manage to get to the end of the level, but littered across the rooftops are various bonus points, and getting these will often take you across the most daring and most jump-filled areas of the course. Sure, you could ignore them, but youre never going to get the highest possible score that way, so its worth the risk to grab them.\r
\r
Whats more interesting though, is that while you could theoretically grab all of the bonus points, you probably wont be able to as there are multiple ways to get across the level. You can choose simple paths across relatively flat areas of the rooftops, or you can take your chances with the higher areas of the level (which is absolutely more interesting) for the added adrenaline and excitement. And if youre really daring, there are other bonuses that cause your character to do special flips and jumps. The problem is, these special bonuses are often located in areas where a mistimed jump can send you off the building. There arent any lives in this game, and you dont have a limited number of tries, so its still a good idea to try for those bonuses if youve got time remaining.\r
\r
If you dont have time remaining though, there are other bonuses that are sometimes even more difficult to get. These dont give you any extra points, but theyll extend the amount of time youve got to complete the level giving you more leeway and freedom to run through the course grabbing even more extra points.
