The words 'minimal' and 'pop' don't usually sit well in many sentences other than "there's only a minimal amount of pop that's any good these days', but if you need a term to describe the music that The XX make, you could do a lot worse that juxtaposing the two terms. Actually, "BRILLIANT minimal pop" is probably more accurate -- we capture one of the most justifiably hyped bands of the year performing their moody yet beauteous future-blues at the Camden Crawl 2009, and discuss with them their rise to fame, and similarity to owls.
