Cop who shot Sylville Smith charged with sexual assault

MILWAUKEE — The police officer who sparked citywide riots in Milwaukee when he shot a man dead earlier this year has been charged with sexual assault.
Officer Dominique Heaggan-Brown fatally shot armed suspect Sylville Smith in August, leading to violent unrest.
On Aug. 14, authorities allege that Brown met one of his victims in a bar. There Brown allegedly “bragged about being able to do whatever he wanted without repercussions,” reported the Washington Post.
The alleged victim got drunk and said he woke up to Heaggan-Brown having sex with him. According to a criminal complaint posted by CBS 58 Milwaukee, the next morning the Milwaukee cop took the man to the hospital, where the victim told staff about the alleged sexual assault.
Heaggan-Brown later texted police Sergeant Joseph Hall asking for help. He told him the sex was consensual, but acknowledged the man was drunk.
Another victim alleged that he met Brown at a party in a stripclub in July. The two got very drunk, and the last thing the victim remembered was waking up naked beside Brown the following morning.
But it gets worse: The cops allegedly found photos of the man on Brown’s phone that showed them and another man having sexual contact. The victim said he didn’t consent to those photos.
And it’s not just sexual assault Brown is accused of, it’s prostitution as well.
Another man claims that in December the Milwaukee cop offered to pay him for sex in a series of text messages. And another guy told the cops that Brown paid him in July in exchange for sex. He alleged they had sex at least three or four times.
A judge set Brown’s bail at $100,000 on Thursday, reported CBS 58 Milwaukee. He’s facing several charges, including second-degree sexual assault and prostitution.
