Wikileaks fails to deliver ‘October Surprise’, though Assange says more to come - TomoNews

BERLIN — WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange spoke in a much-anticipated video stream at WikiLeaks 10th anniversary news conference on Tuesday morning, after cancelling a speech from the balcony of the Ecuadorian embassy in London due to fears for personal safety.
And what a tease he was.
The world had been waiting for WikiLeaks’ so-called “October Surprise,” which Assange had been hinting was game-changing information that would ruin Hillary Clinton’s campaign. However, Assange did not release any new information in his speech — other than to promise the release of more information regarding the presidential election every week for the next 10 weeks.
He also denied that he was targeting Clinton with his leaks and said some of his statements had been “misconstrued.”
Assange added that WikiLeaks will publish documents on war, oil, Google, mass surveillance and U.S. election.
At one point during his speech, Assange said, “If we are going to make a major publication about the U.S., we wouldn't do it at 3 a.m.,” referring to the time on the U.S. East Coast. No doubt he was anticipating the social media flogging he was about to receive from sleep-deprived Clinton haters who had stayed up late for his not-so-surprising “October Surprise.”
Alex Jones of Infowars tweeted that he had been “wikirolled.”
“Julian Assange trolling the world is Hillary’s October surprise,” Jones said on his show later on Tuesday. “He was promising this damning evidence and he doesn’t release it now 34 days out and now he’s saying he’ll release it by the end of the year so that smacks of a sellout ... I think he’s probably out of documents.”
