Nepal, July 13 (ANI): The Nepali Congress and Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Center), after reaching a seven-point understanding between them, along with the support of CPN (United) have jointly registered a no-confidence motion against the UML-led government with a view to form their own government. The hopefuls met General Secretary of the Parliament Secretariat, Mohan Prasad Bhattarai, on Wednesday afternoon and lodged the no-confidence motion against the government at 2.40 p.m. The NC and Maoists claimed that they do not trust the government at a time when the government has been rendered into minority following the withdrawal of the Maoists' support. In total, 253 lawmakers signed the no-confidence motion. The NC and Maoist Center have 289 lawmakers but a number of them were in the districts and couldn't be available at the Parliament building on Wednesday afternoon. According to the working regulation of the Legislature-Parliament, it takes almost a week for the no-confidence motion to come into effect. Defiant PM Oli will have to resign if he cannot garner the support of majority of parliamentarians against the no-confidence motion.
