Libyan government-backed forces have repelled Daesh counter-offensive at the coastal city of Sirte. At least ten terrorists were killed in the fighting. Four members of Libya’s Government of National Accord were also killed in the clashes. Since May 12, Libyan troops have been engaged in a military operation to liberate Sirte, which fell to the Takfiri terrorists in June 2015. Earlier today, the government loyalists staged an offensive in Benghazi, Libya’s second largest city, in a push to drive out ISIL from the strategic port city.
