Hello artists and welcome to the Sennelier atelier. I’m sure you know the artist’s quality oil paint, the famous Sennelier artist’s quality oil paint, but do you know that this same paint it exist as a stick. This is exactly the same paint with the same pigments, but it is as a stick because of the mix of safflower oil of course also with mineral wax so it allows artists to apply directly the colour on the canvas or to do many things but you can use it also with a knife or a brush. I’d like to show you what we can do with theses oil sticks. 2 sizes, 55 colours available that you can apply directly on the canvas, you can mix with artist oil of course. There is no issue if you want to work with the sticks and also in the same time with the tube, you can mix them there is no problem. Before painting you have to peel off the small skin. Dry paint create a skin of paint on the oil stick so we just remove it before painting. And when it’s done you can use the stick directly on the canvas. I can also add colours and mix them! It’s of course possible to mix the colours, it is oil paint, and it is artist creative oil paint. Because it is artist quality oil paint you can play with additives you can “fit” the paint with spirit you can add oil you can add “squetive” you can add all kind of additives you want it is oil paint. If you want to have more information about oil paints you can check the Sennelier YouTube channel video: Sennelier Colors. You can see a video with Joe Pinelli the famous painter, mostly painting with oil sticks. In this video he explains how he uses oil stick on his paints. I hope you like this video, if so thank you for liking and sharing. Bye!
