Shahid Kapoor, who'll be playing one of the protagonists in Vishal Bhardwaj's Rangoon, has started growing a beard for his character in the film, for which he'll start shooting from December.

At a recent event, Kapoor was seen sporting a scruffy beard and he clarified that he is growing his facial hair for his next. While rumour mills were rife with reports that the Haider star will start shooting for the film from November, Shahid refuted the rumours saying that he'll start shooting for it December onwards.

When asked about Rangoon and his look, he said, ''I start shooting for Rangoon in December and for that Vishal sir has asked me to grow my beard because there's a potential of using it, so I do whatever he says. I don't discuss much with him because he has always given me a new look and it has always turned out good for me so when he asked me to grow it, I grew it.''

Set against the backdrop of the Second World War, Shahid will be seen sharing screen space with Kangana Ranaut and Saif Ali Khan in the movie and reportedly, he'll play an officer from the INA (Indian National Army), which was formed by Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose.
