Sweet Lorraine - Kenny Davern

Sweet Lorriane - Kenny Davern 1988?
Recorded at a jazz festival somewhere in France we see clarinetist Kenny Davern being featured in the popular jazz standard Sweet Lorraine.
Kenny is backed up by one of the best jazz pianists, namely Dick Hyman.
On bass we hear Major Holly and the drummer is Oliver Jackson.
Every time a total surprise to hear Kenny's original approach to every tune he plays. They say he comes from the school of Teschemacher and Russell, and yes, one can hear that, but there is so much of Kenny’s own original feeling which he is able to bring out with this incredible technique. Everytime I come more and more to the conclusion that he is my all time favourite clarinet player. I’m also very happy that I had a chance to meet him several times and I have even recorded with him.
