Dozens arrested in Washington state environmental protest

4 years ago|13 views
Dozens of protestors were arrested in Washington state Sunday after refusing police orders to disperse. The demonstration was part of Break Free 2016, a two week global campaign that calls attention to climate change. According to a spokesman for the Skagit County Department of Emergency Management, the protestors were camping out on BNSF Railway about 70 miles north of Seattle. Some protestors stayed in the area after police made arrests, both around the tracks and in kayaks on nearby waterways.
