Allahabad, May 09 (ANI): Devotees on Monday morning were seen taking a holy dip at Sangam in Uttar Pradesh' s Allahbad city on the occasion of 'Akshay Tritiya’ . The festival, also known as 'Akha Teej' , is a holy day for Hindus and Jains. The day marks the birthday of Lord Parasurama, who is the sixth incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Besides, the festival which falls on the third day of the 'Shukla Paksha' in the month of 'Vaishakha' according to the Hindu Lunar calendar, is considered auspicious to buy gold.
