Kanyakumari, May 08 (ANI): Asserting that the BJP-led NDA Government tried hard to get Tamil Nadu priest Father Alexis Prem Kumar released after he was abducted in Afghanistan by the Taliban, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sundaysaid that the incident demonstrated as to how a people-friendly government should function. India had secured the release of the 47-year-old Jesuit priest who was kidnapped by gunmen from Herath in June 2014 and was being held as a captive in the war-torn nation. The Prime Minister was addressing an election rally in Kanyakumari town of Tamil Nadu which will go to vote for 234 seats on May 16.
