Canada wildfire threatens to destroy town

A massive wildfire rages on in western Canada after forcing all 88-thousand people of the oil city of Fort McMurray to evacuate.

Authorities say the fire has destroyed 16-hundred buildings and now it's threatening Fort McMurray's airport and communities well south of the town.

"It's very stressful you don't know what's burnt and what's not burnt. When you can go back. And now you're sitting here and all you see is red flames. It's, it's pretty scary."

Authorities say there are no known casualties from the fire... but there was a fatal car crash during evacuations. Thousands of people have taken shelter in arenas, hockey rinks and oil works camps... and are often short of food and fuel.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said the military can deploy air force planes to the stricken city as needed.
