'Our company is in deep shock': Flydubai reacts to Russia plane crash

At a news conference in Dubai the first thoughts of Flydubai airline executives were for the victims of Saturday’s plane crash in southern Russia, which killed all 62 people on board.
“I would like to take a minute’s silence for the souls that we have lost today,” said Flydubai’s Chief Executive Gaith Al Gaith.
“I would like to express the devastation we all feel in relation to this morning’s tragic event in Rostov-on-Don. Our primary concern is for the passengers and the crew involved at this stage. Everyone in our company is in deep shock and our hearts go out to all loved ones of those involved,” he added.
Flydubai has been reacting to the crash on its Facebook page.
The budget airline had never previously suffered a crash in the seven years since it began operating in May 2009.
Its last major safety incident was beyond its control: one of its planes was shot at while trying to land in Baghdad early last year.
