New Delhi/ Barabanki, Mar 11 (ANI): Nestle Maggi masala has failed a laboratory test in Barabanki district of Uttar Pradesh. According to tests conducted by Lucknow-based state-owned laboratory, ash content in Maggi Masala was found to be 1.85 per cent, which is higher than the permissible limit of one percent. Chairman and Managing Director of Nestle India, Suresh Narayanan, made the remarks after the test conducted last month revealed ash content in the tested samples had crossed permissible limits by 0.85%. In fact, we believe that the analysis has been for ash using standard for macaroni products meant for analyses for instant noodles which is clearly the wrong standard applied to the wrong product and obviously that leads to misleading results. The development comes just a few months after the brand restarted production in India following a temporary ban, after high lead and MSG content was found in the noodles.
