Extraterrestrial refugees on Earth for more than 30 years become a volatile international problem. Cooped up in District 9, their fate lies in the hands of MNU, a multinational corporation interested in their extraordinary weaponry which only functions using extraterrestrial DNA. Wikus, an MNU field agent, contracts a mysterious virus which starts to modify his DNA. This man, who might enable the alien technology to be deciphered, becomes the world’s most wanted man. Rejected, isolated, without help nor friends, there’s only one place for him to hide: District 9.
