Next time you rob a pharmacy, make sure there's not a pro boxer in store

BRADENTON, FLORIDA — A masked man who tried to rob prescription drugs from a Florida pharmacy last week got more than he bargained for when a pro boxer just happened to be in store.

Surveillance video from the Walgreens in Bradenton on Feb. 14 shows Anthony Nemeth, 26, jump up on to the counter and demand "all the oxy 30s," a controlled narcotic known as oxycodone. Nemeth even pretended that he had a gun.

That was when David West, a 25-year-old two time state boxing champ who was leaning on the counter talking to his pharmacy worker girlfriend, leaped into action.

West walked over to Nemeth before grabbing hold of him. Nemeth's shirt was ripped off in the ensuing struggle before West punched him and managed to subdue him.

He then held Nemeth down until police arrived.

Nemeth, whose mugshot shows him with numerous facial injuries, was charged with robbery and is currently being held in Manatee County Jail on a $15,000 bond.

West, meanwhile, was nonchalant about his heroics, saying: "I was protecting the one I love."
